Teckwah joins fellow SMEs at CEO Roundtable Discussion on Leadership and Human Capital Strategies 12 July 2011
Teckwah Group Chairman and Managing Director Mr Thomas Chua was one of the panel speakers invited to share some of the best practices and human capital challenges faced by local SMEs today. The event, which also brings to the panel prominent human capital experts such as thought leaders and practice leaders, provides local enterprises a strategic platform to deliberate their unique set of leadership and human capital challenges, and exchange perspectives and ideas in depth.

The CEO Roundtable Discussion is a joint event by Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and SPRING Singapore to help local enterprises strengthen their human capital capabilities. Materials presented in the discussion and from interviews with panel participants will be used for SPRING’s SME development programmes.

Teckwah amongst local firms in pilot Business Design Programme
29 September 2010
Teckwah is amongst a group of local firms to participate in pilot Business Design Programme by Rotman DesignWorks in Singapore under the Design for Enterprises initiative. The Programme builds on the methodology that takes the best design principles and practices and applies them to business strategy.

Business Design Programme is collaborative effort by SPRING Singapore, DesignSingapore Council and IE Singapore. So far, a total of 12 Singapore-based companies have participated in the Programme.

Experience Sharing at Business Leaders Forum

“Sustainability is not an isolated goal but a continuous process of change. Organisations need to rethink across key areas of leadership and employee engagement.”

Teckwah Group Chairman and Managing Director Mr Thomas Chua was addressing business leaders and owners at the inaugural Business Leaders Forum held on 28 August at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore. Mr Chua said that companies need to adopt a strategic and proactive approach towards leadership development in order to accelerate and sustain growth. He also spoke of how technological advancements and social-political and economic changes have redefined the global workforce in recent years, fuelling the war for talent.

Business Continuity Management (BCM) says something about your company

As the first organisation in the private sector certified to the Singapore Standard in Business Continuity Management (SS:540), Teckwah does its part in sharing its experience with organisations especially the local SMEs who aspire to embark on BCM certification journey.

The BCM seminar was held on 16 April 2010 and organised by TUV-SUD PSB. Ms Angela Kok, Director, Organisation Development of Teckwah Group shared with the delegates on challenges that Teckwah faced and how to overcome them.

Launch of Singapore Print Media Hub Scholarship

Seven companies located under one roof in UE Print Media Hub (PMH) share the same belief in the need to collaborate with higher learning institute so as to align the skills / competencies taught in the institute to meet the needs of the print media industry. Temasek Design School (TDS) of Temasek Polytechnic provides a diploma course in Visual Communication that is closely linked to the needs of print media industry.

These seven companies, in addition to actively participating in Student Internship Programme of TDS, have now come together again to provide scholarships to TDS students. The scholarship will be jointly sponsored by these seven companies.

The seven companies are: Allegro Print Pte Ltd, Grenadier Press Pte Ltd, Highlight Printing Services Pte Ltd, Pixel Tech Pte Ltd, Procomp Printset Pte Ltd, Seng Lee Press Pte Ltd and Teckwah Value Chain Pte Ltd.

TVC Singapore is FSC Certified

Teckwah Value Chain Pte Ltd has been certified to have achieved the standard of Forest Stewardship Council, Chain of Custody (FSC-CoC). TVC's attainment of the forestry friendly labeling affirms the organization's commitment to preserving the environment by using only wood products from responsibly managed forests.

Forest Stewardship Council is an international, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world's forests. It was founded in 1993 in response to public concern about deforestation and demand for a trustworthy wood-labelling scheme. FSC developed a system of forest certification and product labelling that allows consumers to identify wood and wood-based products from well-managed forests.

As the economy geared towards environmentally sustainable practices, the printing and packaging industry will also need to equip itself to serve these growing needs in the marketplace.

Business Excellence Learning Journey - Cost Management

Teckwah Industrial Corporation was one of two companies to jointly host a seminar to share their best practices in the area of Cost Management. The public seminar is one of the 3 series of Learning Journeys organized by SPRING Singapore as part of the 15th anniversary of the Business Excellence (BE) Initiative in November 2009.
